Things have, once again, been pretty quiet on the blog front (we must work on that…), so I thought it was about time to fill you guys in on what’s been happening lately.

First of all, we’re really pleased to say that ‘Fashion, Fishing &nd Failure’ is now available in Faith Mission Bookshops across Northern Ireland, as well as the Scripture Union Resource Centre and the Methodist Resource Centre at Edgehill. We really hope that this makes it a lot more accessible and straight forward for you, or your small group etc. to get a hold of!

We’ve also heard of a couple of stories recently where the film has been shared on an individual level between colleagues in the workplace – and it has opened up opportunities to discuss and explore the themes and concepts that come out of the film as a result of it. This is exactly the sort of stuff that really excites us and makes everything worth it! If you have any stories like this or about making use of the film in some way we’d love to hear from you – send us an email through the contact page!

Finally, we also spent a bit of time in the freezing cold and rain in a lovely Belfast park recently shooting a (quickly put together, zero budget) video to explain a little bit more about who we are and what we are trying to do, as well as how to get a hold of a copy of the first film and how to use it. Hopefully it will give you a clearer grasp of what’s going on here, and will help you share the vision with other people, without them having to read through everything on our website! So go on, why not share the video with some other people at your Church or in your small group and help introduce them to the idea behind Imprint.

Check out the video below!

We are currently embracing 2011 and praying for expectancy in how God will use us and &nd films.

From our beginnings in 2009 we have been so blessed with guidance, words of wisdom, donations and prayers and we want to thank all who have helped get Imprint to where it is now. God has always provided when we’ve needed it and it’s been amazing to see His hand over everything.

I’m pleased to announce we’ve nearly sold our first run of Fashion, Fishing &nd Failure, prompting a new order for re-stocking.

We’ve also been able to start ramping up promotion but we still require your help. If you know any church leaders, organisations, people involved in small groups or any friends seeking new ways to share Jesus they may be interested in using Fashion Fishing &nd Failure. Pass them on a copy or direct them to our website. They can order a copy at our online store or find it at Scripture Union Bookshop, Albertbridge Road for £1.99.

Please pray for us that the word spreads about Fashion Fishing &nd Failure, that we have the finances to further it’s promotion, that word of mouth and recommendation will get people enthused and that ultimately people are inspired to share Jesus with loved ones and friends.

Lastly, pray for us as we grow and look to future projects, that Gods hand is guiding us that we continually his wisdom and vision.

Thanks

Andy

There were around 80 people who attended representing a broad spectrum of churches and some traveled from as far away as Kesh (a several hour round trip!) to see and get their hands on a copy of the film.

The night kicked of with Jonny sharing the journey and vision of why we had produced this film and the steps we had taken to get to this point. We then showed the film which led into short presentations from Stephen Cave (Evangelical Alliance), Craig Hunter (Studio Sterio) & Colin Williams (Inferno). I shared ways that the DVD can be used and the night was concluded with some of Jonnys amazing brownies and cup cakes and live music by Emma Hopley.

Before I finish this wee blog I want to just give you a list of ways that you could use this film. I believe that evangelism is most effective within the contexts of already established personal relationships and so &ndfilms is an amazing resource to aid our personal evangelism.

Some ways that you can use the film.

Available for any individual person to share it with a friend, college or family member.

Cell/Small/House groups

Whole Churches/Congregations

Within evangelistic services/events

Used as a part of existing outreach programmes of any organisations with a missional heart

Christian Unions/SUs/Alpha/Christianity Explored etc

School Assemblies

Prison Ministry

I also want to make you aware of the follow up web site that has been designed to accompany the film which can be found at www.andfilms.org (currently in Beta stages). This is incase the film is used impersonally and there is no follow-up carried out to complete the conversation and telling of the Gospel. It is also for someone wanting find out more online rather than talk it through with their friend.

Please contact us to get a copy or copies of Fashion, Fishing &nd Failure at an introductory cost of £1.50 and begin to see your friends engage in conversations about Jesus with you. Just fire us an email to info@imprintmedia.org

Please leave your comments, ideas of how you are using the film and the stories of lives that have been changed or challenged as a result of watching the film!!!

Imprint Media Grp. is proud to present the first film in the &ndfilms series – ‘Fashion, Fishing &nd Failure’.

Connie and Craig over at StudioStereo have been busy over the last few months both finishing the film editing (it’s looking truly magnificent by the way) and also developing the branding for the series and we couldn’t be more excited with the way things have been shaping up.

We hope that the series can be a launching point for a whole range of films which can be used as challenging evangelical resources to help Christians share their faith with other people in their lives.

We are currently planning the launch of the first film for 8.00PM on Thursday 7th October at Strandtown Baptist Church, Belfast and we really want to welcome you to join us to find out how we think ‘Fashion, Fishing &nd Failure’ can be used in your church, smallgroup or organisation to help you be evangelistic in a way which speaks into todays modern society that is both creative and personal.

To check out a short trailer of the film visit imprintmedia.org

Hopefully see you on the 7th for an exciting night.

Well, it’s all been a bit quiet on the blog front of-late… But that doesn’t mean that we haven’t been doing anything – far from it in fact! So it’s probably about time for another quick update:

So, we are edging ever closer to having a final, finished copy of the first film in our hands – and as a part of that edging process we spent a bit of time in Sonic Visuals studio in Hillsborough last Wednesday recording the soundtrack to be slotted into a final cut of the film! A couple of weeks previous to hitting the studio we spent 14 hours of a lovely sunny day locked away in a Church in Holywood putting down our musical ideas and recording a demo version of the final soundtrack… It’s been a long enough process, but we’re happy that we’ve got a piece of music that fits with the film and really helps to draw out and emphasise key points in the dialogue etc.

In other news we’ve been working away at trying to spread the word about Imprint a bit more (any help here is greatly appreciated!) and as a part of that we were really pleased that Summer Madness generously allowed us to have our new trailer played on the main stage and at the Rehab venue. It provoked a bit of interest from a few people, which has been really encouraging and great to see! We are currently working on trying to get a bit more promotion on the go at other Christian conferences and events in Northern Ireland over the summer – so if you have any suggestions do get in touch!

One final encouragement we have also had recently came from one of the trust funds we had contacted about supporting us financially. They have offered to provide us with a grant that would really be a great boost to furthering the work of Imprint, if we are able to raise a bit more ourselves! It’s both a challenge and an encouragement – but we are really looking forward to seeing Gods direction and provision over the coming weeks in all this sort of stuff!

Please continue to lift us up in prayer as we get near to a completion point on the first project, so that everything is hopefully in place for release in September time!

Thanks for your continued interest and support – have a great day now!

hello one and all,

just a brief update on whats happening with imprint this week.

Studio Stereo are rattling through the editing process as I type these very letters, syllables and words! and as we can all see from the promo we are in for something very special.

We just feel so blessed and encouraged by how God has instilled such a clear and common vision too everyone who he has called to be involved and we take heart from peoples interest, enthusiasm and prayers for what we are doing.

It’s really amazing seeing the vision, that started a year ago, being realised and we can’t wait to have the first project/resource ready for use. All signs point to the project being launched in early autumn possibly September time (without giving too much away) we are also in negotiations with imprint being promoted in and taken on by some great events coming up before the end of the year.

Very exciting times.

Lastly, if you refer to the first blog by Jonny, the 5th picture, thats in Groomsport beach, you may doubt my sound recordist skills with the direction I am pointing the microphone in, but i will clarify I am recording the sound of a ships mast on a calm May morning, it is an extremely useful sound clip to have…

Well, I guess this is the real start of the countdown to the release of the very first Imprint project – and so, to celebrate, we have kindly provided you with a short 30 second sneak-peak video that will hopefully give you a bit of a taste of things to come…

Go on, watch it. Then watch it again. You know you want to.

Imprint Media Grp. from studio stereo on Vimeo.

We’re really grateful to the guys over at studiostereo who have put this together for us to help give everyone a bit of insight into the look and feel of this project. It’s stepped our excitement levels for the final project up another gear (if that’s possible) and we really can’t wait to share it with you, and to see it being used to share the Gospel in a personal, relevant and engaging way – coming right out of the heart of the Church, here in Northern Ireland.

Again, I just want to echo Jonny’s words of thanks to all involved so far – people who are praying, people who are giving (time/money/advice and more), Stephen, StudioStereo, Colin and Dan. You are all making this project both amazing and God-glorifying.

So, aside from that, I just wanted to give everyone a quick run through of how things went down on the shoot, last Thursday, now that you’ve all (hopefully) seen the pictures and the trailer that came out of some of the work that day! :

Groomsport Harbour:

Well, we started bright and early (feeling fresh) at 7am at Groomsport harbour/beach to, ironically, film some of the closing scenes in the morning light, when the tide was out. Once Stephen was all mic’d up, we hit the rocky, muddy and slightly damp beach – to the interest of some of the locals walking their dogs – as we tried to avoid standing on well camouflaged crabs or in some of the many rivers of water that crossed it as we filmed. These shots are some of the most powerful and engaging parts of the film – where the whole thing really draws together and crescendos – and the harbour made a great setting for it with loads of atmosphere, and yet intimacy, at the same time.

Bangor Seafront:

After grabbing some general shots and sound ambience samples of that location we headed onwards and upwards to the bright lights of the beautiful Bangor… and had a coffee. Following the coffee (tea), we filmed the opening scenes along the seafront in Bangor, where Stephen introduces the whole concept of the film in the middle of a busy town setting. It was great filming in a location with plenty of other people and ‘passers-by’ about – not only because of the natural feel it gave, but also because of the excuses they liked to give about why they didn’t want to appear on camera! We shot some great stuff against some of the derelict buildings and advertisement posters, which made for a great background (as seen in the promo video!)

Next we had an important meeting scheduled with a certain Burger King. The meeting was productive.

Excel Clothing Store:

Finally we were joined by a wonderful crew of around 15 extras at 5.30pm in the Excel Clothing store to film some of the central scenes. So, whilst 15 people convincingly pretended to shop, Stephen had to deliver some of the script in the midst of a busy retail environment. Some of the shots in the store look really incredible – and we made plenty of use of our favourite hired piece of equipment of the day… The Dolly (which no-one should ever be without).

We wrapped up just coming up to 8pm, bringing the whole 13 hour escapade to an end. It was a great, if tiring, day and one which we hope is just the start of many!

Keep your eyes on the blog for more stuff coming soon…
Also feel free to fire us a comment by clicking the wee speech bubble beside each blog entry title – we’d love to hear from you!

Take it easy,
Sam

Almost one year in the making, we had the shoot for our first project featuring Stephen Cave last Thursday and it couldn’t have gone better.

I’m going to leave it up to one of the other guys to tell you all a bit more about how we got here over the last lot of months but I just want to say a whole hearted thanks to all our supporters – Connie & Craig of StudioStereo, Stephen, Dan, William and the staff of Excel Clothing along with anyone who donated time, equipment or money and everyone who came down to be extras – we can’t thank you enough. We really saw God move and you really made the whole day the success it was.

You can check out a selection of shots from the day below and hopefully we will have more to show you and tell you about it all in the coming days.
